Arctic Cat Ext 580 Manual
Got a 1996 AC 580 EXT EFI with about 2200 miles on it. The problem I'm having is that it handles like hell when going through the turns and twisties and I was looking for advice on what I can do to make it handle a little bit better. I know of the AGLT mod but before I engage in that, I would like some ideas on what I could do as it sits now. Track is studded and everything else is stock. I've had some problems bottoming it out so I was going to add some heavier springs (I weigh 260 lbs) and upgrade the skis, carbides and shocks/springs all the way around.

I've read that there are some things that you can do with the rear suspension to make it ride stiffer which will avoid the bottoming out issue but what I can do to make this this turn better? It's almost like there's not enough dig up front for the skis. Also, does anyone know what shocks would fit in the rear?
I know the fronts go 14 1/2' eye to eye but have no idea what I would need to upgrade the rear. It is a RydeFX by Fox, nonrebuildable. To adjust the pressure on the skis if you need to take some off after changing the rear of the skid, you would turn the adjusting collar on the bottom of the shock/coil spring unit to raise the end of the spring. 1 - 1.5 turns will usually be enough.
Thanks for the tips in the spring/shock adjustment. Trane condensing gas furnace. Knowing that the shocks are RydeFX, I wanted to put some Fox rebuildables on there. Is there a specific length, model, etc. That would work for this application?
